Local support
As members of the clergy, our faith compels us to speak out in response to the undeserved, mass eviction of Devenscrest tenants by Brady Sullivan Properties. The communities of faith in Ayer stand in solidarity with the Devenscrest tenants and call upon state and local officials to exercise their authority to allow Devenscrest tenants to remain in their homes. The evictions of the residents of these apartments creates both a personal crisis for these residents and an ethical crisis for the larger community.

State support
As state legislators representing the town of Ayer, we continue to stand in solidarity with the Devenscrest neighborhood of Ayer and oppose the attempted mass eviction of residents by Brady Sullivan Realty. We acknowledge this mass eviction is not happening in a bubble, but rather is part of a deeply troubling pattern of well-financed developers purchasing distressed properties, removing working families and long-time residents, and constructing new housing that does not have the current tenants in mind.
